1963 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2

Dad's Ferrari we had when I was growing up. The Borani wheels were reconditioned and the spokes replaced. We added a new water pump, had the Bendix brake booster rebuilt and new seals in the axles. It had a beautifull straight body that was never wrecked. Well, until a deck chair fell on the front in the garage.

We put in new English wool carpets and the leather interior was restored.

The original owner blew the V12 Columbo and replaced it with a racing 327. The car had 60k original miles oin 1991.

A great road trip car.

We used it a lot in Oregon.

Didn't get a lot of use in Juneau.

After sitting a while it needed work.

The brake master cylinder,

brake booster, rust, and interior.

Had a Chevy 327 instead of V12.

Still it was fast and sounded good.

Unfortunately, not many photos of it.

Interior restoration

My first time working with restoring leather. It turned out pretty good, it was a lot like working with wood. We sent a sample off for color matching, stripped the old stain off and applied conditioner and new stain. When we were done the interior looked brand new.

I spent a winter after college working on it.

Pulled out all the leather and refurbished it.

The door panels before being stripped. Nice side pockets.

Getting started on the leather.

It was smelly work and needed better ventilation.
