Needed to do the clutch on the Suby. When I got into the job I found some other issues so there was a bit of scope creep. Rust under the battery tray, change the transmission fluid, change the clutch fluid, replace a valve cover gasket, replace the rear main seal, reseal the oil separator plate, oil change, spark plugs, new head lights, new front grill.
Before starting.
Spent an evening pulling parts.
Next pulled the motor..
Took a bit but it came out.
Found the battery tray had a lot of rust.
Fly wheel had grooves in it.
And the rear main seal had a slight leak.
Next cutting out the old battery tray.
Now off to Pic n Pull to get a replacement.
Got the replacement welded in.
Paint and seam sealery.
Slight leak on oil seperator plate.
Just a slight leak.
New rear main seal and oil plate.
Also new valve cover gasket and plugs.
Well, it kind of matches.
Engine back in..
Welded longer bolt for CAI.
New alternator and starter.
Most of the parts back on
Changed the clutch fluid and transmission fluid.
Radiator back in
Bumper back on
New headlights in.
The list is almost complete
Back on the road.
