Work on the dashboard
Noticed quite a bit of water coming in under the dash. Thought it might be a good idea to repair before installing the radio.

First I disassembled the dashboard.
I took the guage cluster out.
Here is the rust where water was leaking in.
I still had some decent metal above to weld into.
The driver side was a lot worse off.
Cut out the bad stuff.
This was like a moonscape.
I had extra metal from my Porsche that fit under the dash.
Welded and sealed up.
Replacing the sound insulation.
New speaker installed.
The gauges installed and a working tachometer!
The new old style radio.
